ANDY JAMES is a founding Director of Six Degree People and a highly experienced search professional.

In 1997 he saw the potential of focusing his skills on sustainable business and since that time has led the field in this area of board level executive search.  He has worked across almost all sectors and has successfully completed assignments in America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Andy has invested his years of experience in building relationships with the very best people across all of the of Six Degree People’s key global networks.  In addition to heading up the executive search practice at Six Degree People, he also works on projects that help clients to identify and acquire potential acquisition targets or seek out JV partners to grow their businesses.  This long term focus has resulted in him leading assignments such as the search for a Chief Sustainability Officer for IKEA described by Pernille Lopez (Global HR Manager – IKEA) when she said that “Six Degree People bring a whole new dimension to executive search - they are truly experts in the field and provide both insight and an incredible network”

In addition to core search assignments, Andy is the author of numerous pieces of thought leadership with his paper “The 5 stages to a Sustainable Business” having achieved widespread critical acclaim.  Outside of Six Degree People, Andy has contributed to the advisory boards for the launch of Carbon Leapfrog and BASE 2010, the leading sustainable business conference.

Andy is a father of two young boys and lives with his family in Barnes SW London.  He enjoys all sports, particularly rugby and golf.
