CHRIS SMITH brings a different set of strengths and experience to the Six Degree People team having held senior sustainability roles within the private and public sectors and in consulting for nearly a decade. After 12 years in corporate banking, Chris’s career in sustainability started when he found himself in the role of Head of Sustainability at Standard Chartered. Chris left the City in 2007 to join the Offices of HRH The Prince of Wales where he was Chief Operating Officer of The Prince’s Rainforest Project and Sustainability Adviser to Their Royal Highness’ Offices and Household. Following this he led the UK Sustainability Practice at global management consultancy Arthur D. Little. Alongside his work with Six Degree People, Chris has his own sustainability consultancy and is an Associate Director of Platis Corporate, an investment advisory boutique specialising in renewable energy projects. Chris has served as member of the Thomson Reuters Corporate Responsibility Advisory Board, the London Leadership Team of Business in the Community and was a founder member of the working group of the Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change. An avid rugby fan, average golfer and a youth rugby coach, Chris lives by the sea in Whitstable, Kent and is married with three young children.
